Valette Foie Gras is a third-generation family business founded by Mr. Adrien Valette at Quercy – Périgord in 1920.  Due to the energetic third-generation management and the creativity on products, Valette has become a representative of a modern and an innovative corporate in the market.  The main objective was and still is to produce high quality foie gras and to retain the traditional taste of the Southern area of France.

Today, Valette Foie Gras already has a full range of different and luxurious products such as, duck foie gras, goose foie gras, confits, terrines and foie gras pâtés and a traditional taste of 60 years has been retained in some products.

As the most famous origins of foie gras are Périgord and Southwest of France, Valette provides gastronomic products which are shield by The Protected Geographical (IGP) to guarantee the origin and the quality.  The IGP is a certification in Europe, developed in 1992. The certification gives the determined and superior quality of products with more than 100 specific control points and an ideal raising environment for ducks and their welfare. Ducks must always be raised, prepared and packaged in the Southwest of France.

The IGP South West involves in many duck products:

  • Non-processed products: Foie gras, duck breast, thigh, wing and viscus products.
  • Processed products: Whole foie gras, bloc of foie gras with or without pieces, dried or smoked duck breast, confit including wings, thighs and gizzards.

Valette has won 57 medals of the General Agricultural Competition (Concours Général Agricole) which is organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food since 1870.  Hundreds of gourmet elites were invited to Paris to taste and judge the contestant dishes.  Valette won many times and made her the leader in the industry.

Valette also focused on food safety, the quality of processes and products. All of her plants are certified by International Featured Standards (IFS) and are reviewed every year to guarantee her quality system is protected at all time.
